Why do so many blogs suck?

Why is it that so many blogs out there suck? Is it because the people who write them are so full of themselves or what they are doing to think that other people find what they have to say important? Or is it that many of them are commercially backed in some way or another? Blogs are suppose to be this new citizen based media concept but now all the big blogs are backed by commercial interests and advertisers. They are just as bad as CNN or the NYtimes. Bloggers are now employed by corporations. Most of them work with the sole intention to create ad revenue. Now, to be honest if i had thousands of dollars rolling in I would write to support that ad revenue as well. I read techcrunch and blogs like that everyday and at times it makes me a bit sick see the blatant advertising on the right for the companies he's reviewing on the left. How do you say conflict of interest in geek speak?
